The T-34 is a Soviet medium tank introduced in 1940. Its 76.2 mm tank gun was more powerful than its contemporaries while its 60-degree sloped armour provided good protection against anti-tank weapons. Formochka turrets were made by using huge 5,000 ton forge press, which stamped them out from the heated metal plate. The stamped turrets were released at the Ural Heavy Engineering Plant named after Ordzhonikidze (UZTM) in Sverdlovsk.
