The ISU-122 (acronym of Istrebitelnaja - or Iosif Stalin-based - Samokhodnaya Ustanovka 122) was a Soviet assault gun used during World War II. It was created on the basis of the heavy tank IS-2, it has a completely closed armored conning tower and a gun of 122mm. ISU-122 was designed for the destroying of tanks and breakthrough of fortification lines, special assault groups could be made up to it.
