The Type 100 main battle tank is a next-generation Chinese armored vehicle representing the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) move toward highly automated and networked ground warfare systems. Classified as a fourth-generation main battle tank, it features a modern unmanned turret design, advanced sensors, and integrated battlefield technologies intended to improve situational awareness, survivability, and combat effectiveness. The vehicle was first publicly revealed in August 2025 during rehearsals for China’s Victory Day military parade, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Second World War. It made its official public debut during the military parade held in Tiananmen Square on 3 September 2025.

The ZRY-222 is an unmanned tracked combat and reconnaissance vehicle designed to support armored formations in modern battlefield environments. Operating as part of a wider unmanned ground combat vehicle system, it is intended for missions such as reconnaissance, surveillance, target identification, and direct combat support. The vehicle is equipped with a remotely operated weapons station featuring a heavy machine gun and missile armament, allowing it to engage enemy forces while reducing risk to human operators. Its tracked configuration provides mobility across difficult terrain while complementing traditional armored vehicles.

The “Robot Wolf” is a Chinese weaponized quadrupedal unmanned ground combat platform developed as part of the PLA’s growing family of autonomous battlefield systems. Inspired by the mobility and adaptability of animal-like robotic designs, these robotic units are intended to operate alongside manned and unmanned vehicles in reconnaissance, security, and combat-support roles. Equipped with sensors and weapon systems, Robot Wolves represent the increasing integration of artificial intelligence, robotics, and autonomous technologies into future military operations.
