The German 5 cm FlaK 41 auf Selbstfahrlafette Sd.Kfz. 7/2 was an experimental self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle developed during the Second World War. It combined the powerful 5 cm FlaK 41 anti-aircraft gun with the Sd.Kfz. 7/2 8-ton half-track, providing a highly mobile platform for heavy anti-aircraft fire. The 5 cm FlaK 41 was developed to provide greater range and firepower than the standard German 3.7 cm anti-aircraft guns. Although approximately 60 FlaK 41 guns were produced, the weapon saw only limited service. The installation of the 5 cm FlaK 41 on the Sd.Kfz. 7/2 remained an experimental configuration and did not enter large-scale series production. The Sd.Kfz. 7/2 was the anti-aircraft version of the Sd.Kfz. 7 half-track family and was more commonly armed with the 3.7 cm FlaK. Mounting the considerably larger 5 cm FlaK 41 required a modified weapon platform and resulted in a particularly distinctive vehicle.
